Digital XRays : Digital x-rays have been adopted by a high percentage of dental offices. A digital x-ray allows us to take an image of the teeth and put it into an imaging program. Within this imaging program, there are a number of tools that will allow us to take a very close look your teeth and surrounding structures with amazing accuracy. As a benefit to the patient, the digital x-ray also provides less radiation than a standard x-ray. This is due to the fact that the digital version of the x-ray is much more sensitive to this radiation and has been specifically designed to reduce radiation.
Intraoral Digital Camera : The intraoral camera is an excellent diagnostic tool for viewing different angles in the mouth that we would not have been able to just a few years ago. The camera gives us the ability to view the entire mouth on a monitor so that we can get a closer look at any potential issues or problems that may arise. In the case of internal fracture lines (cracks), they will often show on photographs, not x-ray, taken with an intraoral camera. Furthermore, you will have the ability to see for yourself firsthand the same images we are seeing. These digital images are also excellent for gaining procedure acceptance from insurance companies.
Surgically Clean Air Purifier : We have added a Medical-grade Air Filtration System at the corner of every operatory and waiting room. Our HEPA medical-grade air purifier has been clinically proven to clean and purify indoor air. There are 6 stages of filtration and sterilization actively turning over the air in your operatory every 3 minutes! It's very quiet and effective. It has a germicidal UV-C+ bulb to kill airborne pathogens. It also includes multi-stage air purifying technology to clean, purify and re-energize indoor air. The air purifier captures dust particles, pollen, volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), mold, allergens, viruses, odors (like formaldehyde and smoke), bio-aerosols, nitrous oxide, and many other pollutants that are noticed indoors at workplaces and residence.

- Oral and pharyngeal cancer strikes an estimated 39,000 Americans each year. An estimated 8,000 people die of these cancers annually.
- The disease occurs twice as often in men as in women.
- Although the difference between races in oral and pharyngeal cancer is negligible, the 5-year survival rate doubles for white men over African American men (the difference in survival rates between women is not significant).
- An estimated 1 in 95 adults will be diagnosed with oral or pharyngeal cancer in their lifetime.
- The median age at diagnosis is 62 years (that figure may drop to 52 to 56 years for people who have oral or pharyngeal cancer associated with human papillomavirus (HPV) infection.3-7)
Oral cancer has traditionally been associated with tobacco usage, and it’s true that the majority of oral cancer victims smoke or use chewing tobacco, consume alcohol and are over 40. But the group experiencing the highest growth rate of oral cancer incidence does not fit this traditional “at risk” profile. More and more, oral cancer is striking younger people who don’t use tobacco or abuse alcohol.
In many cases, the cause appears to be one of two strains of the human papilloma virus (HPV-16 or HPV-18). Health care experts now recommend annual oral cancer screenings for all adults aged 18 and older. If you smoke or use chewing tobacco, screenings are recommended every six months.
During your oral cancer screening, we will examine your lips, inside of mouth, gums, inside of cheeks, the sides and underside of your tongue, and the roof and floor of your mouth.
- A red or white patch
- A sore that bleeds easily or does not heal
- A thick or hard spot or a lump
- A roughened or crusted area
Other signs of oral cancer include numbness, pain or tenderness, or a change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite down. Be sure to tell us during your exam about any problems you have when chewing, swallowing, speaking or moving your tongue or jaw. Any abnormalities will be closely followed and possibly referred to an oral surgeon for biopsy/2nd opinion.
Oral ID
Oral ID uses proven, optically based technology called, "fluorescence technology". Oral ID's fluorescence technology uses a blue light (435-460 nm) that provides the clinician an aid in visualization of oral mucosal abnormalities, such as oral cancer and pre-cancer. This is the same technology used in other medical applications including highlighting abnormalities of the GI tract, cervix, lung, and skin.
Laser Therapy
Dental diode lasers deliver clear benefits over conventional methods of treatment with mostly scar-free wound healing and improved germ reduction. For patients, the use of lasers means less post-operative pain and therefore less need for medication.
